New Strings and Guitar syllabuses for 2016 coming soon

18 May 2015

We are pleased to announce that we are launching new syllabuses for Strings (Bowed Strings & Harp, 2016-2019) and Guitar (Classical & Plectrum, 2016-2019) this year.

A range of new supporting publications will be released and will be available through sheet music retailers and from our online shop.

The new Strings syllabus will be available in July 2015 and the new Guitar syllabus will be available in September 2015.

Our new 2016-2019 Strings syllabus will feature brand new repertoire lists for violin, viola and harp, and updated repertoire lists for all other instruments. We will also be releasing new technical work books, which will include newly commissioned studies at Grades 1-5 and newly selected orchestral extracts at Grades 6-8 for all bowed strings, as well as refreshed scales and arpeggios requirements for all instruments.

Our new 2016-2019 Guitar syllabus will also include brand new repertoire lists, encompassing a wide range of styles and genres, and duets for Initial to Grade 3. New technical work books, covering important skills and techniques, including scales & arpeggios, studies and concerto extracts, will also be released.

A one year overlap arrangement will be in place for these syllabuses, so candidates may perform repertoire and technical work from the current syllabuses until the end of 2016.
