Improved Arts Award model launched

14 Dec 2023

Trinity is excited to announce improvements to the Arts Award model that will have a positive impact on many centres.

Arts Award takes children and young people on a creative journey, exploring the arts world, discovering their potential as artists, developing leadership skills – and gaining a recognised qualification along the way. Open to anyone aged 25 or under, this unique set of arts qualifications builds skills essential for success in the 21st century: Creativity and communication, along with problem-solving, reflective-thinking and confidence.

Our new improvements have made assessing Arts Award easier than ever before for centres.

Key changes to Arts Award

The latest updates to Arts Award comprise several key improvements:

  • Moderation is no longer required for the majority of centres
  • A simple marksheet has replaced the Adviser Assessment Report Form
  • Quick and easy moderation is available where needed - removing complicated booking options and improving the timeframe in which certificates can be issued
  • A new portfolio submission platform, where moderation is required, streamlining the submission process and speeding up feedback
  • Fast, digital certificate delivery
  • A new annual centre monitoring and support process

New approach to entering young people for Arts Award

The updated model incorporates a fresh approach for young people to attain their awards. Explore a summary of the new process or visit the Enter young people section of the Arts Award website for comprehensive information.

What's different for new centres?

Organisations intending to begin Arts Award programmes need to complete our free online centre validation process and train at least one team member as an adviser before registering their centre. All details are available in the Get Started section on the Arts Award website.

You will find full details of all the changes to Arts Award on the website.
