Trinity’s Acting for Screen exams

Be assessed on key industry skills
Trinity’s Acting for Screen exams assess skills that sit at the heart of this rapidly growing industry. Whether a trained stage actor or enthusiastic newcomer, the exam format reflects and develops industry-aligned skills essential for auditions, showreels and self-taping.

Develop core screen acting skills through performance tasks
Performance tasks help candidates develop core screen acting skills, such as creating convincing performances, expressing character emotions and mastering dialogue. They also build technical abilities for maintaining eyeline and adapting to different camera angles. Ident and Playback Review tasks allow candidates to present directly to the camera, a vital skill in the digital age. Playback Review aids students in refining their performances by reviewing recordings during preparation.

Select personalised material for authentic screen performances
Candidates choose to perform material specifically written for television or film, their choices can reflect their own interests, culture, and playing age. The tasks can be filmed on a smart phone or camera with no editing required and uploaded to our submission platform.

Foster confidence and reflective learning
Acting for Screen exams are designed to enable candidates to perform confidently on screen, whilst developing communication skills and the ability to reflect on their learning process.
